KB 'BUILT LOCAL' SCHOLARSHIP

At KB Equipment Rental, we believe in hard work, strong values, and giving back to the communities that built us.

We’re proud to offer the KB ‘Built Local’ Scholarship to a graduating senior in Armstrong or Indiana County pursuing a career in the skilled trades.

Whether you're heading into construction, cosmetology, excavation, welding, mechanical, automotive work, or another hands-on trade—we want to hear your story!

 We’re excited to support the next generation of hardworking individuals who keep our communities running.

Winner will receive $500!

**Funds may be used for furthering education, attending trade school or community college, courses, obtaining certifications, trade tools and supplies, starting a business -- just about anything that helps support your journey in the trades! This applies whether you are furthering education, entering the workforce, etc.**

To apply, submit a short 500-1,000 word essay answering:

“How has growing up in a small town shaped your work ethic and decision to pursue a career in the trades? How will you use your skills to give back to your community?”

• Open to graduating seniors in Armstrong and Indiana counties (PA) pursuing the trades (ALL TRADES WELCOME!)
• Post-graduation plans must include the trades in some capacity: furthering education, entering the workforce, starting a business, or trades within the military
• Minimum 2.7 GPA or B average or better
• Satisfactory School Record and Reputation (Character, Behavior, Background)
• 500-1,000 word essay as described above (*Bonus Points: include a photo of a project or job you're proud of!)
• Deadline: May 6, 2026 at 5pm EDT

• One entry per person.
• Must meet above-listed eligibility requirements to qualify.
• Any applicant who provides false information, materially misrepresents themselves, or is found to be plagiarizing and/or using AI in their submission will be disqualified.
• Scholarship provider (KB Equipment Rental) reserves the right to conduct any relevant background checks, grade verification, and/or contact school faculty for a character attestation or recommendation.
• Scholarship provider (KB Equipment Rental) reserves the rights to all essays, stories, excerpts, photos, and submissions for public use on our website, social media accounts, news/media, radio, television, or other marketing material.
• The scholarship award will be paid directly to the student.
• All decisions are final.
