We rent skid steers (wheeled and tracked), mini excavators, mini skid steers (aka “ride on”), aerial lifts (scissor lifts and boom lifts), dump trailers, equipment trailers, forestry equipment, telehandlers, forklifts, bulldozers, and a wide variety of attachments for residential, commercial, agricultural, and construction projects.


This includes trenchers, stump grinders, post pounders, brush hogs, hole augers, pallet forks, breaker/jackhammers, Harley rakes, rock hounds, and so much more! Check out our full catalog and if something is missing, reach out as we just may choose to buy it so we may expand our fleet!


KB Equipment Rental is located in the greater Kittanning/Indiana area at 568 Barks Hill Rd, Creekside, PA 15732. While we have a Creekside address, we are actually much closer to the Elderton/Atwood area than we are Creekside.


Our 6-acre rental yard is tucked back in the woods just off Route 210 by Keystone Lake.


We proudly serve Armstrong County, Indiana County, and surrounding Western Pennsylvania communities.


We provide equipment rentals throughout Western Pennsylvania, predominantly in the greater Kittanning and Indiana markets. We often find ourselves delivering in towns like Apollo, Butler, Worthington, New Bethlehem, Punxsutawney, Glen Campbell, Rochester Mills, Marion Center, Shelocta, Elderton, Rural Valley, Creekside, Dayton, and more! Delivery is available to most surrounding communities within a 50-mile radius.


While our equipment rentals run 7am-5pm seven days a week, our available office hours for office/yard staff are via APPOINTMENT ONLY between 10am-4pm Monday through Friday. Please coordinate with us to be sure someone is available for you to visit the premises.

Yes. KB Equipment Rental is locally owned and operated by lifelong residents with extensive experience in equipment, trucking, and diesel repair. We are well known to the community already for our other businesses in the Dayton and Creekside areas since 1966 and are proud to bring you an affordable equipment rental outlet.


RENTAL REQUIREMENTS

A valid government-issued photo ID, proof of insurance (when required), and a valid payment method.


Most equipment rentals do not require a CDL. However, customers are responsible for ensuring they have the proper license and vehicle to safely transport rented equipment if they are not having us deliver/pick-up the equipment for them.


Forklifts, telehandlers, and aerial lifts all require special certifications to operate. KB does not assist with getting you the proper training or certification nor do we supervise. We are not responsible for verifying credentials of operators. The good news is you need not be a trained/certified operator to rent the equipment. We will rent the equipment to anyone - it is then on you as the renter to ensure any operators of the equipment are properly trained, certified, and familiarized with the equipment. If you'd like to know what certifications are required and where to obtain them, we are happy to provide a list to you to point you in the right direction.


Yes. There is a fully refundable security deposit of $265 for all rentals ($500 if the order involves a forestry mulcher and/or any trailers). This gets instantly refunded to you upon the end of your rental assuming you have no outstanding balance due for damages, fuel, cleaning, etc.


Depending on your bank or financial institution, you may not see the refund reflected for 24-48 hours.


A valid payment method must be kept on file with us for damages.


Absolutely. Many of our customers are homeowners tackling landscaping, excavation, grading, drainage, and property improvement projects.


We show you how to run everything so you can rent with confidence!


 Yes. We work with contractors, landscapers, municipalities, farms, property managers, and industrial customers.


Contractors get 10% off with us, ALWAYS! Just please be sure to notify us of your contractor status up front for the discount as we cannot add it after your order is finalized.


delivery and transportation

Yes. Delivery and pickup services are available for most equipment within a 50-mile radius of 568 Barks Hill Rd, Creekside, PA 15732.


Delivery fees are $3.50 per mile for our entire seat time (with a $100 minimum delivery and $100 minimum pick-up fee).


This means if your job site is 30 miles away, we are charging for a 60-mile round trip to deliver ($210) and a 60-mile round trip again to pick-up ($210).


This also means if your job site is 1-mile up the road from us, we are still charging the $100 minimum delivery charge and $100 again to pick up.


Nope! You are welcome to be, but do not need to be. We will coordinate in advance to be sure where you want the equipment. And a guide on how to run it is in the cab as well as “how to” videos on our website.


Yes, provided your vehicle, trailer, and towing equipment are rated and inspected appropriately and meet all applicable laws and regulations. If you show up with a truck/trailer not properly rated, looks unsafe, isn’t inspected, etc., we reserve the right to refuse service to you. You are warned of this up front at time of booking and it is in your signed rental agreement – no refunds will be offered in this event, so please come prepared with the appropriate transportation equipment!


Ask us if you aren’t sure. (For instance, many folks think a 10,000lb GVWR trailer can haul 10,000lbs, but you must subtract the trailer weight itself to find out that the trailer can only actually haul, 8,000lbs in some cases).


Chains and binders are ONLY provided if you are hauling OUR equipment (i.e. you rent a skid steer with our dump trailer). It will already be properly tied down for you and ready to go when you get here. If you are simply renting a trailer from us with NO equipment on your rental order aside from the trailer itself, NO chains or binders will be provided for whatever you are hauling.


If you are hauling the equipment, please let us know what job site address(es) you may be working at in advance. Equipment is not to be relocated to any unauthorized job sites aside from those listed on your rental agreement.


Equipment/trailers are not to leave a 75-mile radius of KB Equipment Rental.


Lastly, we only service within a 50-mile radius, so any equipment/trailers being taken beyond 50 miles away from us (50-75 miles) will mean the customer is solely responsible for all associated costs with breakdowns, recovery, etc. If we do come out to assist with a breakdown outside of the 50-mile radius, you will be charged, accordingly. 


Our staff can help determine whether your vehicle is capable of safely towing the equipment you wish to rent. Please reach out.


RENTAL PERIODS & RATES

We offer:

  • Daily (7am-5pm, up to 10 machine hours)
  • Weekly (7am on the day out through 5pm on the 7th day, up to 50 machine hours)
  • Monthly (7am on the day out through 5pm on the 28th day, up to 200 machine hours)
  • And long-term rental options - just reach out and ask!


Weekly and monthly rentals can begin on any day of the week/month.


We do not offer 4-hour rental rates (our daily rates are already cheaper than most competitor's 4-hour rates).


We also do not have special weekend rental rates (our weekend is simply the daily rate times two). Again, our daily rates are already so cheap to begin with; if we discount them anymore, we'd be giving the equipment away.


Rental periods begin at 7am on the date indicated on your agreement, regardless if you don’t pick the equipment up until a later time in the day. (For equipment we are delivering, your equipment will always be there well before 7am).


Yes! Our daily rates are already about half of that of our competitors – if we made them any cheaper, we’d be giving the equipment away.


With that said, there is no special ‘weekend’ rate – it is simply the daily rate times two for a two-day rental (Saturday 7am through Sunday 5pm, up to 20 machine hours).


If you simply want to book for a 1-day rental for a "Saturday Only" or "Sunday Only," you can do that as well.


 Please reach out as soon as possible to extend your rental period (subject to additional rental charges). If we are able to accommodate, we will. However, there is always a chance the equipment may be booked already for those dates and we will not be able to extend.


Yes. Weekly, monthly, and extended rental periods typically receive discounted rates. Please reach out if you intend to rent for any period longer than a month.


Yes. We offer special pricing programs for qualifying contractors and repeat customers.


Yes. If you provide a written quote on letterhead from a legitimate rental company (not some uninsured Joe-Schmo on social media), we’ll beat their base rental rate by 10%. (Applies to base rental only; delivery and damage waiver excluded.)


 Nope! We believe in transparency. Nobody likes hidden fees or surprises. The only fees you incur are:


  1. The Actual Rental Rate itself;
  2. Delivery/Pick-Up fees if you are needing those services;
  3. A Damage Waiver Charge if you don't have insurance (read more about this under the Damage & Insurance section below);
  4. A Fully Refundable Security Deposit


All of this is shown up-front on your quote as well as at check-out - NEVER HIDDEN!


**If you choose to pay via credit card, 3rd party processing fees may be charged by our processor (2.9% + $0.30), also shown at check-out. We do not profit from this - it is a 3rd party fee. Otherwise, we accept CASH, too! (Cash must be paid in person at our location via appointment only - no reservation is made until cash is received).


NO HIDDEN FEES - The price you are quoted is the price you pay, period.

 There’s a few options!


  1. You can head to our  catalog, add any items to your cart for the dates you wish to request, and head to checkout (don’t worry, you don’t actually have to check out). This will tell you your entire rental fee, damage waiver fee, delivery, and pick-up fees (if you selected delivery). That’s it! (Please note that all online quotes will automatically include the damage waiver. Also, discounts and promotional rates are not always available on the online system – please reach out directly for us to delete damage waivers or apply any special promotional or discounted rates).
  2. Text or call us at 724-698-2700 with what you need and when and we can run it all for you and give you the price!


BOOKING & PAYMENTS

There's a Few Ways:


  1. You can head to our catalog, add any items to your cart for the dates you wish to request, complete your information at checkout, and click submit (it will not ask you for payment). We can then review your request, confirm details with you are correct, and fire back with a payment link as well as a link to e-sign your rental agreement. (Please note that all online quotes will automatically include damage waiver. Also, discounts and promotional rates are not always available on the online system – please reach out directly for us to delete damage waivers or apply any special promotional or discounted rates. Unfortunately, we cannot add any promotions or discounts after your order is finalized).
  2. Text or call to tell us what you need and when and we can send a payment link and rental agreement over so you don’t have to add anything to your cart.
  3. If you aren’t technically savvy at all, we can also accommodate the “old school” folks. Just coordinate a time to come in and see us and we’ll get a copy of your license and payment method and have you fill out your paperwork and pay while there.


Most times, yes. If you need a piece of equipment in the next 48 hours, please call/text 724-698-2700 to ensure we see your request in time. Again, nothing is reserved until payment is received and the agreement is signed.


We can send a link either via e-mail or text to e-sign your rental agreement and submit payment! Or, if you are old school, you can coordinate a time to stop by and we can sign and pay in person!


We accept credit cards, debit cards, and cash. We do NOT accept checks or money orders.

We like folks who actually read and pay attention - so if you are reading this, it shows you listened and did your homework! We want to reward you for that. When you book online, put the magic password below in the comments on your order and we will shave $10 off your order before we fire back with your rental agreement and payment link. No reservation is confirmed until payment is made in full AND the rental agreement is signed. If another customer signs and pays first, availability may be lost. Start by requesting a reservation through our catalog, and once reviewed, we’ll send your agreement for e-signature along with payment link.

EQUIPMENT OPERATION

Yes! While most rental companies say ‘here ya go,’ we at KB take the time to show you how to use the equipment in person. Don’t feel intimidated – they are so much easier to operate than what you’d think!


We also have in-depth videos under the “How To” section on our website for you to reference at any time as well as PDF guides on that page along with operator's manuals.


A laminated guide is also provided in the cab of each machine as a quick reference guide. Feel confident when renting from us!


Some experience is recommended for larger equipment, but many machines are beginner-friendly. Our team can help match equipment to your experience level.


The only item we absolutely REQUIRE experience in renting is any trailer rental, especially if that trailer will be hauling equipment as it is a challenging experience loading and unloading equipment from a trailer, properly securing the equipment, and in may cases a CDL or DOT medical card may be required depending on weight/ratings. Please ask us.


Personal Protective Equipment such as fall restraint and fall arrest systems (harnesses) are required on many aerial lifts per OSHA/ANSI. KB does NOT supply any PPE/harnesses. However, brand new harnesses are available for purchsae from us if you wish to purchase them.


We do not supply any personal protective equipment (PPE). Due to the custom sizing nature of most PPE, sanitary concerns around re-using PPE, and liability concerns associated with PPE, we advise the customer to supply their own PPE.


Simply call or text us, including after hours! We're happy to help answer questions about equipment operation and basic troubleshooting.


Yes! All of our machines are equipped with quick attach.


Most of our equipment utilizes hydraulic quick-attach systems for easy attachment changes. Simply push a button without even having to get out of the machine to attach/detach from buckets and attachments.


A select few machines are equipped with manual quick attach - still super simple and quick, but you have to get out of the machine and pull a pin.


FUEL & MAINTENANCE

Equipment is provided on a full tank of fuel and is expected to return that way to avoid any additional costs.

  

Equipment should be returned with the same fuel level as when it was rented.


(Some machines – those with more than 75hp, such as our Kubota SVL 97 models, also take Diesel Exhaust Fluid aka DEF, which you are also responsible for purchasing and re-filling).


A refueling charge may apply (which is always more than the actual cost of fuel, so it is always more cost-effective for you to re-fuel the machine yourself).


Shut down the equipment, remove the key (if applicable), and call us immediately!


Do not attempt repairs unless authorized! And do not attempt to upright the machine – this can actually seize the engine as the fluids need time to reset.


LEAVE IT ON ITS SIDE IN THE EVENT OF MACHINE UPSET AND CALL US IMMEDIATELY.


If you are stuck, do not keep spinning in the mud – this can cause tracks to pop off and ruin expensive sprockets, rollers, or tracks which you will be responsible for replacing. It is better (and cheaper for you) if we assist you with getting the equipment un-stuck.


We will help determine the cause and arrange service if necessary.


For short-term rentals (7 days or less), no – with the exception of the forestry mulcher attachment which needs greased every few hours (easy – we will show you how to do so).


For long-term rentals (longer than 7 days), maintenance requirements will be discussed at the time of rental.


DAMAGE & INSURANCE

Customers are responsible for damage beyond normal wear and tear that occurs during the rental period.


Contractors: Commercial customers such as contractors need to have the appropriate liability and worker’s compensation policies as they already should have as a reputable, licensed contractor using the equipment for a commercial purpose. As for covering the equipment itself (for fire, theft, vandalism, damage, etc), the contractor can ask us for the equipment serial number to add it to their existing commercial policy (totally optional, but saves you money with us). If you don’t add the equipment to your commercial policy, you will be charged a damage waiver fee for not having physical damage coverage for the rented equipment.


All Others: For all others, no, you do not need insurance to cover the equipment. It is totally optional, though it is recommended and will save you money with us. Please consult your agent to see if you can obtain coverage for our rental equipment as most insurers will not cover homeowners (non-contractors) for rental equipment. If they can do it, great, we will gladly provide the serial number of the equipment for you to get it added. If not, you will be charged a damage waiver fee for not having physical damage coverage for the rented equipment.


In any event, anyone without the proper insurance to cover the equipment will need to purchase a damage waiver from us (additional cost detailed out below).


 A damage waiver charge (DWC) is typical among rental companies, including our local competitors, even if they don’t point it out up front as we do.


The damage waiver is not insurance (only a registered insurance company can legally give you insurance).


Instead, a damage waiver provides only a limited waiver of your responsibility for some accidental damages, subject to a deductible, and subject to the exclusions listed in your rental agreement.


This means it does not waive EVERYTHING – you may still be charged for some damages.


The exact DWC will auto-calculate in your cart at checkout, but it is 18% of the base rental charge and 30% for any orders involving a forestry mulcher due to increased risk of damage.


It is always itemized out on your quote/invoice and never hidden.


The only way to avoid the DWC is to have your agent add physical damage coverage to your policy with us listed as an additional insured (reach out and we can guide you on how to do so).


The renter is responsible for immediately reporting theft to both law enforcement and KB Equipment Rental.


 Normal wear includes reasonable use of the equipment. Abuse, misuse, collisions, rollovers, overloading, and unauthorized modifications are not considered normal wear.

It is a promotion that runs 24/7 all year round with us, but we don’t necessarily advertise to the public regularly.


Basically, if you check the availability calendar on any piece of equipment and you can identify a “gap” in the calendar, you can book any dates within that gap and we will take 25% off the base rental rates for any item (discount does not apply to delivery or pick-up fees).


A “gap” is any period of 1-7 days (7 days or less) where we are NOT booked and this gap must occur within the next 10 days. If you can successfully reach out and let us know there is a gap and you’d like to book our gap filler special, we will set it up with a custom quote just for you for whatever dates you select within that gap (whether a 1-day, 2-day, 7-day booking period, etc).


We will not automatically apply gap filler discounts to bookings – you have to specifically call out the gap and tell us you want the gap filler special.


If you aren’t sure if you’ve identified a gap, feel free to reach out and ask and we can let you know!

If your booking dates are flexible, this is a great way to save on your equipment rental!
